Smart Phone Exergame Placement Student, 12 weeks - June - August, £1100 per month, Edinburgh
- Basic purpose of the placement and its primary objectives
- To develop multiplayer features for the FitQuest exergame on the Android platform, taking into account suggestions from existing users.
- Main duties:
- Work with the FitQuest team to develop a specification for multiplayer mini-games for exercise
- Design the interface and game mechanics with the team
- Implement these designs for Android
- Technical and user testing
- Knowledge and skills required:
- Knowledge of programming technologies such as Java and object-oriented techniques
- Experience of games development or mobile app development is desirable but not essential
- Person skills:
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent organisation skills
- Confident and professional manner

- Working conditions:
- Based in office in Riccarton
- Core working hours 10am – 4pm

FitQuest is a location based exergame for Android. Its purpose is to encourage children to take more physical activity. We are looking for an imaginative, technically skilled student to develop a series of multiplayer mini-games to complement the existing suite of single player games based on suggestions we have gathered from existing users.
